Susie Wiles |
Susie Wiles, a seasoned Republican strategist, has been appointed as President-elect Trump's White House Chief of Staff. Known for her behind-the-scenes work, Wiles received widespread recognition for orchestrating one of Trump’s most focused and well-managed campaigns.
During his victory speech in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump specifically acknowledged Wiles, expressing gratitude for her significant contributions. “I want to thank Susie [Wiles] and Chris [LaCivita] for the incredible work they did. Susie, come up here. Susie likes to stay behind the scenes. We call her the ‘Ice Baby.’ But she’s never really in the background,” he remarked. Trump praised Wiles as “tough, smart, innovative,” adding that she is “universally admired and respected.” He highlighted her historic role as the first female White House Chief of Staff, saying, “I am confident she will make our country proud.”
John Brabender, a veteran GOP strategist, shared with Fox News Digital, “There’s no one more suited for the role of White House Chief of Staff than Susie Wiles.” He emphasized Wiles' strong rapport with Trump, noting, “No one will have a closer working relationship with the president, who fully trusts her commitment to his success.” Brabender added, “Susie’s sole focus will be on helping the president achieve his goals, and she will ensure only the most capable staff join her in the White House.”
A longtime Republican strategist in Florida, Wiles led Trump’s campaign efforts in the state during both the 2016 and 2020 elections. Her political career spans decades, beginning with her role as campaign scheduler for former President Reagan’s 1980 bid. She also managed Rick Scott’s 2010 Florida gubernatorial campaign and briefly worked as campaign manager for former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman’s 2012 presidential campaign. Currently, Wiles serves as a senior adviser and campaign co-chair alongside Chris LaCivita.
Initially, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was rumored as a potential Chief of Staff candidate but recently clarified on "The Guy Benson Show" that he would decline the role if offered.
